Described by USA Today as “one of the best connected lobbyists in Columbus”, Neil Clark has been a force in the Ohio Statehouse for over 35 years. Prior to launching Grant Street Consultants, Clark served as Chief Operating Officer of the Ohio Senate Republican Caucus where he managed the planning, development and implementation of Ohio’s biennial budget. As the senior financial analyst for the caucus, Clark developed his in-depth expertise of the legislative budget process, specifically taxing and spending priorities, makes him a powerful force on behalf of his clients’ interests before Ohio’s Senate, House, and Governor.
Clark’s decades of experience and role in shaping Ohio’s political landscape makes him an indispensible resource to Ohio’s elected leaders, to whom he often serves as a trusted and highly sought after campaign advisor. Throughout his career, Clark has structured and directed scores of successful campaigns for candidates and statewide ballot issues. For his political campaign work, he has been honored with a “Telly” award and a “Silver Anvil” from the Public Relations Society of America. He served as an adjunct professor of Public Administration at Ohio University and as a program analyst for the Ohio Legislative Budget Office.
Neil has appeared as a guest or been interviewed by the Ohio affiliates for ABC, NBC and CBS. He politically analyzed elections results during prime time viewing for the 2006 and 2008 General Elections. For several years Neil has been a regular guest on The Ohio News Network, Ohio Public TV, OSU Public Radio and the BBC. He has been interviewed on public policy and political trends by every major Ohio newspaper and leading national publications such as Newsweek, The New York Times, and Time Magazine.
Neil currently serves on the Board of the Ohio State University’s Star House, helping homeless youth find a safe haven and get on the path for a productive life. Neil is a graduate of Ohio University holding a Bachelor’s degree in political science & psychology, and a Master’s degree in political science & public administration.
